Harrison Turnbull is the Managing Director & Principal of Waverly Partners' Charlotte, NC office.
His twenty-two years of business and legal experience include commercial banking, corporate finance, mergers and
acquisitions, general management, strategic consulting, law, and executive search.
Prior to joining Waverly Partners, Harrison was Regional Vice President & Managing Director of StratfordGroup. He
began his executive search career as a Partner with Sockwell & Associates. He has completed major consulting and
recruiting assignments for financial services, investment banking, capital markets, energy, utility, real estate,
industrial, technology, consumer and durable goods manufacturing, distribution, and nonprofit organizations. His
search clients have included La-Z-Boy, Michelin-North American, PolyOne Corporation, Oglebay Norton, Central Parking System,
Lubrizol Corporation, DTE Energy, Lincoln Harris, Reynolds Plantation, National Gypsum Company, Coca Cola Bottling Co.
Consolidated, BB&T Capital Markets, Wachovia Securities, First Citizens Bank, Harris Williams & Co., Dominion
Capital, and Duke Capital Partners.
Earlier in his career, Harrison held a number of senior positions including Chief Financial Officer and Director of
AMVEST Corporation, a diversified energy and finance corporation; Principal with Norelli & Company, a Charlotte,
NC-based strategy consulting firm; and Commercial Loan Officer with NationsBank (now Bank of America). As Senior
Vice President and CFO of AMVEST Corporation, he was responsible for the financial evaluation and negotiation of
corporate acquisitions, new ventures, and divestitures. In addition, he managed its human resources department,
in-house legal team, and investment portfolio. Harrison practiced corporate and securities law with McGuire Woods,
a multi-national law firm headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. He successfully completed the Series 7 Registered
Representative and Series 24 General Securities Principal examinations.
He obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Washington & Lee University and
earned his M.B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Virginia. Harrison is a member of the Virginia State Bar,
American Bar Association, and the Virginia Bar Association. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the
University of Virginia's Health Services Foundation and served as Chairman of the Board for the University of
Virginia's Ambulatory Surgery Center. |
