MATTHEW D. CLEMENS

Matt Clemens is a Managing Director of Waverly Partners, and is based in Cleveland, Ohio. He has over 15 years of executive search, recruiting and operational experience. He is directly involved in managing executive search assignments spanning mid-management to senior executive levels in a variety of fields. Matt's functional expertise includes sales and marketing, general management, supply chain, logistics, six sigma/quality, engineering and human resources. He has worked with organizations such as Siemens, Carrier Corporation/United Technology Corporation, Energizer, Roadway Express, Parker Hannifin, Eaton Corporation, Hawk Corporation and Freeman.  His executive search consulting experience includes his role as a Director at Christian & Timbers, one of the nation's top technology-focused search firms, and at StratfordGroup, a "top 20" national firm. Earlier Matt was a Director for the Professional Recruiting division of Spherion Corporation, a Fortune 500 human resources consulting company.

Matt brings a management perspective to his executive search consulting. He began his career in a series of sales and operations management assignments with General Electric and Roadway Corporation. This experience enables him to effectively evaluate leadership, general management and technical business skills among candidates. He is known for developing a broad source environment and his aggressive development of the initial candidate pool. With attention to details, Matt understands both the short and long-term impact of the new position on the client's market position and the candidate's career. Matt earned a BS degree from Villanova University and an MBA degree from Cleveland State University.
